ABOUT US

LAIDE FOWOSIRE FOUNDATION (LFF) is a non-profit making Foundation, non-religious and non-political oriented that was established by  Mr. Olaide Fowosire. 

It was registered in the year 2009 at the Corporate Affairs Commission; CAC/IT/NO. 36551 with the aim of giving educational grants to the financially challenged, providing financial support in areas of medical and health needs, financial assistance/sponsorship of Muslim pilgrimages and other religious appeal. to train and provide skills, care, and education to the less privileged in the society and to assist the indigent and other vulnerable indigene, children, students, youths, and families.

ARIYALO EDUCATIONAL SCHEME is one of the schemes of LF Foundation established to cater for the Educational grants for the indigene and indigent/students of Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State, and which started operation in 2011.

This scheme sponsors applicants who are admitted into government institutions (Vocational, University, and Polytechnic).

The Foundation currently has 30 undergraduate beneficiaries and 22 graduate beneficiaries.

It is managed by the Board of Trustees and it is open to any individuals and entities with the aims and objectives of the Foundation at heart.

An intervention to provide access to quality education to students whose parents cannot afford to pay their wards’ school fees.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The applicant:

  • Must be an indigene of Ijebu Igbo or a child of an indigene
  • Must come from an indigent family background which must be capable of verification.
  • The applicant must provide a hand written application addressed to the Foundation (of about 200 words) stating reasons why he/she wishes to apply and why he/she feels qualified for the scholarship
  • Applicant must provide 2 passport size photographs (on invitation to the Foundation’s office)
  • The applicant must have gained admission into any of the government approved tertiary institutions on the LF Foundation List
  • The applicant must pass the re-qualifying exam to be held at the LF Foundation office in Lagos.
  • A one-on-one interview will be conducted with the Applicant at a scheduled date.

LIST OF REQUIRMENTS to be supplied to the Foundation after confirmation of having passed the LFF examination:

  • Copy of Birth Certificate
  • Copy of O’Level results (WAEC/NECO)
  • Copy of JAMB result
  • Copy of Up to date tax clearance certificate of sponsor/parent
  • Copy of Acceptance fee receipt
  • Copy of Post UTME result
  • Details of bank account of Applicant
  • A filled copy of bio-data form
  • Course form/prospectus
  • Letter of provisional admission from the school
  • Email address of Applicant
  • Phone number of Applicant
  • Phone number of course adviser or faculty officer
  • A letter from the Ijebu Igbo Local Government
  • Letter of verification from the secondary school or tertiary institution attended.

The annual scholarship exam and interview will be March of each year.

Note: The final submission date of all required documents is 29th of February each year for us to complete the registration process for the annual exams.

Below are the steps of how we work:

  • Applicants are nominated for scholarship selection from the public secondary institutions/schools within the Ijebu Igbo axis through the Teaching Community and identified as specific to the core aims of the Foundation.
  • The applicants approach the Foundation with a letter of intent/ application.
  • List of pre-qualifying conditions and registration requirements are forwarded.
  • The Foundation screening begins with the documents submitted
  • Applicants meeting the conditions/requirements will be invited for pre-qualifying exams at the Foundation Office in Lagos. Both written examination and interview will apply.
  • The successful applicants will be contacted
  • A letter of award will be presented to the successful applicants on a selected date
  • The applicant(s) becomes a beneficiary of the Foundation throughout his/her tertiary education
  • Award payments are channelled through dedicated accounts
